Finding great after-school care is so important, so we’ve put together some handy links to help you find the right wraparound care for your family.
After School Nannies
If you’re looking for an after school nanny here are our top suggestions for recruiting one yourself:
- Join your local parenting Facebook group. Post that you’re looking for an after school nanny, the name of your child’s school and when you need help. While searching through these groups can be time-consuming, we find they are often full of top tips and childcare recommendations for your area. Here are some of the best groups we are aware of: Surrey, Watford, St Albans, Windsor and Maidenhead, Sevenoaks, Dartford.
- Try childcare.co.uk. You can post an advertisement for free and browse after school nannies near you. However, you’ll have to pay a subscription to send messages to nannies.
Childminders can pick up your kids from school and take them back to their house. Sometimes they can be hard to find but every childminder will be registered on their council website.
And for anywhere else, you can check the government website for more information on how to find a registered childminder in your area.
If you’re lucky enough to have local family or friends who can pick up your kids from school, this can be a great solution, although we know this is not a realistic option for most families. After school clubs can also be a great option if your school has a good one and you can get your child a place.
We really hope this has been of help to you and we wish you the best of luck with your arrangements moving forwards.
