If you want your kids to have JEDI level conflict management skills,
Here’s exactly how to do it
(Warning – this post is only for the MOST ambitious parents!)
Perhaps you know some amazing grownups who are incredible at diffusing conflict.
They can express their needs clearly, diffuse tough situations, and negotiate like champions.
These skills can be learned at a young age!
The carousel below lays out exactly how.
In a nutshell, you teach simple phrases like…
🗣 “Let’s both stop talking for a minute.”
🗣 “Can we start over?”
🗣 “I don’t like that. Please stop.”
🗣 “Let’s solve this after we cool down.”
🗣 “What do you need right now?”
🗣 “I need a break.”
Your kids learn these when you
✅ Model the phrases
✅ Practise in calm moments
✅ Don’t force them in the heat of the moment
✅ And praise their attempts, not just perfect delivery
I do want to emphasise that this is advanced stuff.
Most adults can’t do it!
But if you manage to teach these to your children, one day you may have the incredible joy of hearing them said in the next room.
At that moment, you’ll know how Yoda felt when Luke Skywalker levitated rocks.
