Here’s what I wish someone had told me when I first became a parent:
Tons of the advice isn’t rooted in science.
So I made this carousel to bust 8 of the most persistent myths still circulating in parenting groups, schools, and even healthcare settings.
Myth 1: Good parents are consistent all the time
Myth 2: Screens are always bad
Myth 3: Tantrums are misbehaviour
Myth 4: If they’re old enough to ask, they’re too old to breastfeed
Myth 5: You’ll spoil them if you respond too quickly
Myth 6: Dads are great ‘helpers’
Myth 7: Good parenting means no shouting
Myth 8: They’ll remember the big stuff most
None of these stand up to what we now know about neuroscience, attachment, or emotional development.
It’s time to let them go!
