A Koru Kids nanny provides personalised care in your child’s familiar home environment, meaning your child gets the perfect mix of consistency, routine and flexibility.
Here’s what some parents have said:
“Koru Kids has been a game changer for our family with SEN needs because my children can’t cope with after school care. Before we started using Koru Kids, we didn’t have any wrap care at all.”
“We use Koru kids specifically because our son is autistic and so the wraparound care at school can’t meet his needs. A nanny who he knows well in his own house is much better.”
“With my son’s needs we were keen to find someone who already had experience working with autistic kids, particularly those with no or little language. We were able to find some good candidates with experience who could talk about it at interview, I was surprised by how many good quality candidates with that previous experience we found, and our current nanny had really relevant previous experience and has been great.”
Over 15% of our nannies have SEN experience. You can use filters or our new AI tool to find them, and message to check there’s a fit.
We've combined the best of tech and real people to help you find your family's perfect nanny. Our system makes it easy to interview and trial before you commit.
We have years of experience in recruiting nannies and our selection and vetting means only the top 10% make it to our network. We check for a valid First Aid Certificate, Enhanced DBS check and their right to work in the UK, that they have two glowing references and have a passion for childcare.
Our new SEN Nanny Guide for parents makes it easy to tell prospective nannies about your child’s individual needs.
You can design your own ‘settling in’ schedule to ensure your child and nanny build a stable, long-term bond.
We support all Koru Kids nannies to access free Level 2 qualifications in SEN topics including autism, specific learning difficulties and disabilities, and challenging behaviours.
Our simple all-in pricing means the rates you see on our nanny profiles includes their pay, plus pension, taxes and our service fee.
From late-night searches to stolen moments at a bus stop – we’ve built a service designed for busy parents.
It’s nanny hiring for the 21st century.
You can find the right nanny for your family, on your own terms, while we take care of the hard bits.

This includes taxes, nanny public liability insurance, employer national insurance and pension contributions and our service fee.
There is a £199 set-up fee the first time you employ a nanny. This covers an enhanced DBS check, registration with HMRC and the pensions regulator if needed.
We ask for four weeks’ pay upfront when you hire a nanny (which you’ll get back when the match ends.)

From £19.75/hour
Nannies with 2+ years of formal experience, eg. as a nanny or in a school or nursery.
From £20.75/hour
Nannies with 3+ years experience in professional nanny roles.
We’re experienced at working with specialist funding, including the Short Breaks scheme and others.
Contact us to discuss how we can accept your specific funding.
Please note that some funding schemes do require Ofsted-registration, and only a small number of our nannies are Ofsted-registered. We can work with you to register a nanny but please be aware this will involve additional cost and time.

We include all the costs associated with hiring a nanny in the hourly rate you see on the platform. This is the nanny’s pay, taxes, your employer taxes and pension. We also include our service fee in the hourly rate so there isn’t a big upfront cost like with other agencies.
The first time you hire a nanny with us there is also a one-off set-up fee.
It varies. Some nannies will drive and have their own car. Some will have a driving licence so can be insured on your family car.
All of our nannies speak fluent English. For most, it’s their first language, but many speak other languages as well. Our nannies come from a range of backgrounds, so just let us know on the registration form if you have any language requirements and we’ll do our best to send you nannies who speak that language. If it’s a bonus rather than a deal breaker, the number of potential nannies we can show you really increases.
All nannies receive basic nanny training, and have free access to accredited Level 2 training courses in areas like Understanding Autism, Understanding Specific Learning Difficulties, and Behaviour That Challenges in Children. We are currently developing further training on SEN subjects. If there are some specific topics you would like your nanny to receive training in, we would love to hear about it.
Yes, you can.
It’s optional, but some families like to offer a higher-than-usual hourly wage in order to get top applicants and make sure their nanny is happy in the role longer term.
You can do this on your job post.
A small number of our nannies are Ofsted-registered, but most are not. If your funding source requires Ofsted registration (e.g. childcare vouchers or tax-free childcare), we can provide you with the information to register your nanny. It usually costs about £500 as your nanny will need to attend certain training on-top of the registration fee.
We’re experienced working with specialist SEN funding, including the Short Breaks scheme and others. Contact us to discuss whether we can accept your specific funding.
Many nannies will have Enhanced DBS checks and First Aid certificates that are still valid. If they have expired we’ll run a new DBS and book them onto an in-person First Aid course before they start.
Yes. While our nannies can provide personal care which is a normal part of childcare – for example, we can help a toddler with potty training or dressing – we usually cannot support personal care for older children, particularly teenagers. This is because it falls under different regulations and requires specific registrations and training that Koru Kids nannies do not hold.
Unfortunately we cannot provide:
Yes, we do have nannies who are supporting children who are at home rather than school.
These situations tend to be very individual so we would recommend making a job post and messaging individual nannies about their potential fit.
