About us

Koru Kids is building the world’s best childcare service, starting in London. We believe that every family should have the perfect childcare for their family to flourish.

We’re growing fast and backed by strong investors. Our culture is informal, hard-working and kind. The team is an A++ when it comes to talent and our "no dickheads" rule means we're also a humble and supportive bunch.

About the role

We have big ambitions to transform the childcare market in London - we already have strong foundations in our existing and much-loved nanny service and have helped families with over 1 million hours of childcare..

We recently launched our new Home Nursery servicewhich brings together the best in childminding and nurseries offering families excellent quality and great value childcare.

To do this, we’re looking for a talented Senior Growth Marketing Manager (not a product role) to join us and help supercharge this new service - from the ground up!

You’re joining us at a time when things are just getting off the ground. Imagine owning something from near scratch, pretty great right?

You’ll play a key role in making our new Home Nursery service a roaring success. So we’re looking for a self-starter to join the team and help spread the word far and wide. You’ll be waving your wand and using all clever and creative marketing methods, channels and means possible to reach people in the 2 camps below.

The 2 key areas you’ll get to grow:

  1. Our family fan base (those who use our home nursery service). We want to make Koru Kids the go-to place for top-notch childcare. This means while our teams build great relationships with our families, it’s our job (in marketing) to attract new families. We want to continue to be so loved and respected that we become the first suggestion on anyone's lips when they're asked for childcare recommendations.

  2. Our childminder fan base (those to take care of families children). We also want to be the stand-out-obvious choice for childminders, anyone considering starting their own childcare business.

    Sounds complex and we promise that it’s not. Well, not more complex than chicken and egg. One might come first, some would argue otherwise, and at the end of the day, it’s doesn’t matter because you’d get the opportunity to make an impact on both - chicken AND egg.

 

About you

You’re

  • A leader - from day one you'll be leading a team of 4, helping to coach and develop them to achieve their very best.

  • Fast-paced - Your favourite speed is extra fast. We don’t have months to plan campaigns and we need to deliver every day. You feel at ease when things move quickly.

You also

  • Have at least 5+ years of experience in brand and growth marketing and have lead a team for 3+ years

  • You are looking to join a mission-driven team where you can make a big impact.

  • Are confident in taking on a big, ambiguous challenge and devising a clear plan to solve it, keeping track of key metrics to check you're on track.

  • Naturally use data to inform your thinking, and you're constantly devising tests to check and challenge your assumptions.

  • Are a structured thinker, breaking down problems and finding the nuggets of gold

  • Are experienced in working with agencies to deliver outstanding results across digital and offline channels. Equally, you're no stranger to (and in fact, love) rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck in yourself.

  • Have strong empathy for users, and can easily put yourself in the shoes of both a parent and childminder to understand what will appeal to them at the different stages of their experience and journey with us.

  • A natural at spotting room for improvement / how to do things better - whether it’s conversion rate wins, better photography or imagery to capture hearts and souls or changes to how we communicate the benefits of our service.

  • Agile, learn quickly and aren’t afraid to change things up

  • Have a passion for building brands that people love.

  • Enjoy working with junior members of the team to develop them and get the best out of (and for) them.

 

Important things to know

  • Timing: we'd like to have the right person join the team ASAP

  • Flexibility: the role can be done flexibly. It can also be part-time if you like, although in that case, you are likely to need to have highly relevant experience as you'll have less time to learn things from scratch. We welcome parents and would love to discuss any other working arrangements that make it possible for you to be part of our team.

  • Salary & Benefits: The salary for this role is £45,000-£60,000 (dependent on experience) and you’ll get 25 days paid holiday (plus bank holidays) - these will both be pro-rated if you work part-time. For any parents thinking of applying - we also offer 50% off Koru Kids childcare (up to a value of £7,000 per year).

  • Equity - This role comes with a generous equity package that reflects the impact you’ll have on Koru Kids success and growth

  • Location: you can do this role from anywhere in the UK and earn the same salary as you would if you were in London (where our office is based). We welcome applications from people living outside London. Outside the UK is more complicated as it has tax and other implications, so we are unlikely to hire someone living outside the UK.
