How do you build strong relationships with children?

The key to a great working relationship with the children is finding a balance between being fun and friendly but also setting boundaries to keep them safe and feel secure.

This video tells you how to find that balance.

What are the Koru Kids Standards?

Be there – always be available for their required shifts. If they absolutely cannot make a shift, provide the family with as much notice as possible

Be on time – plan ahead and leave enough time for unexpected delays in their journey to ensure they are on time

Be safe – prioritise the children’s safety at all times

Be in touch – communicate promptly and clearly

How can I get the kids involved in cooking?

Cooking with kids is a brilliant activity.

It’s fun, it’s creative, it involves reading and maths, it’s cultural, it’s practical… and you get something yummy to eat at the end of it!

Here are our tips for getting the kids involved:

Nannying while parents work from home

If the parents are at home while you’re working it can change the dynamic of your role but with good communication everyone can be on the same page and things will work out great.

This quick video shares the things it’s most important to discuss before you get started.
