How many children am I allowed as a childminder?

Ofsted ratios allow you to look after three children under the age of 5, one of which can be under the age of 1. If you have your own child under 5 we'd recommend that you look after another two under 5's to keep your earnings around £25,000.

By working with an assistant to look after 6 younger children full-time you could expect to earn up to £70,000 after fees and costs. We guide you every step of the way, if this is what you want to do.

Benefits of having a childminding assistant

Working with an assistant means you can look after an additional 3 children, if you have space. This allows you to earn up to £70,000, after our fees and their pay. Finding and vetting an assistant can be a hassle but Koru Kids has a network of DBS checked nannies we can introduce you to.

We will even help them get set up as self-employed saving you the headache of being a legal employer. You interview them - and manage them day-to-day - so you're still in the driving seat.
