We all know that children change their minds a lot. One day they love an activity, they next they’ve branded it as boring and want to do something else! As a childminder, having a backlog of great childminder resources is crucial to keeping little ones happily entertained throughout the day.

So, we’ve gathered together some of our favourite childminder resources— from printable activities, to must-follow Instagram accounts for outdoor learning inspiration— to help you keep your home nursery an exciting and stimulating environment for the little ones in your care.

Childminder resources: printable online resources

Twinkl

Twinkl have a comprehensive range of printable childminder resources to provide support with planning for a wide range of topics. Resources are based on different themes and topics, such as ‘my community’. They also have a great range of outdoor learning resources.

Pinterest

Pinterest is always a safe bet if you’re looking for activity inspiration. Try searching different keywords, such as ‘childminder ideas’ and ‘childminder outdoor activities’. Pinterest is particularly good if you’re struggling for arts and crafts activity ideas.

Mrs Mactivity

Mrsmactivity.co.uk is filled with lots of brilliant activity packs for little ones to get stuck into. Activities are separated into age categories— with printable phonics sheets, dot-to-dots and fine motor skill development activities available for ages 3-5. They also have a SEND section, with resources created especially for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

Facebook groups can be a great place to gain support from other childminders, share ideas and get activity inspiration. Try searching ‘childminders in (your area)’ on Facebook to connect with local childminders.
