Get your DBS check sorted

All nannies working through Koru Kids need an enhanced criminal records check from the DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service), or Disclosure Scotland for nannies in Scotland. This is called a DBS check, or PVG check in Scotland. This is really important for ensuring the safety of children, and is a contractual requirement of working with a family through our platform.

If you already have an Enhanced DBS certificate within the last 12 months, or an existing PVG certificate, please click here to upload a clear photo of it.

If you don’t have a valid DBS or PVG check, Koru Kids will order a new one for you (and cover the costs). To complete a check, you’ll need to do two things:

  1. Book and attend a 5-minute video call to show us your identification documents
  2. Complete a short form through Verifile, our background check provider

You can do these steps in any order, but it’s very important that you complete both steps as soon as possible, and ideally before your start date.

Your video call

The DBS/PVG check requires that we see three documents to confirm your identity – these should be shown to us over a video call.

You can find out more about which documents we can accept, and more information about the call, in our Help Centre.

Filling in your Verifile form

Once our DBS team have ordered your DBS/PVG check, you’ll get an email from hello@verifile.co.uk with your login details for Verifile, our background check provider. Once you’ve logged in, you’ll need to fill in a short form with your details, including your recent address history – this should take 5-10 minutes.

Questions?

Our Help Centre has lots of useful information about your DBS check – if that doesn’t answer your question, you can get in touch by emailing care@korukids.co.uk, or via WhatsApp or Live Chat.
